Overview

The Bennion Community Engaged Scholars program supports students all across campus in their commitment to ethically engage with communities and contribute to positive societal impact. It provides an opportunity for them to collectively sustain and deepen their engagement through classes and hours of experiences with communities. Scholars leave the program equipped with the knowledge and skills to be life-long civically engaged citizens, wherever their next steps take them.

Students completing the program will...

Demonstrate a commitment to ethical engagement with communities
Be prepared for the Map the System competition
Gain practical, hands-on social impact experience
Earn an official transcript designation to boost their degree
Situate that experience in the broader context of social change
Receive graduation cords and be recognized at the annual CEL celebration
Develop the necessary awareness, skills, habits, and values to be life-long civically engaged citizens
Have networking and resume building experience
