For her Public Service Professor project, Dr. Kamimura will be working with Understanding Us - a grassroots (501) (c) non-profit organization that provides Tai Chi and physical activity programs to persons experiencing homelessness (PEH) in Salt Lake City. In 2013, Dr. Molina expanded the resident-led partnership and with the support of the University of Utah, founded Latino Behavioral Health Services (LBHS). Randy L. Dryer's service both on and off campus is a testament to his lifelong commitment to community engagement.

Xitlally Barajas wanted to join the Bennion Scholars program because they wanted to learn more about social justice.

Lauren Webb did historical research and created a virtual exhibit on Utah women's experiences during World War I. The exhibit is being utilized by Better Days, a nonprofit that creates and disseminates educational material on Utah women's history.

Emma wanted to work with Martha Hernandez from CESB and Professor Elizabeth Archuleta from Ethnic Studies to conduct a study about campus and community resources barriers

Sydney Kincart wanted to be a scholar because she wanted a chance to apply what she's learning in the classroom to a project.
